The Windsor and Ascot Driving Group for Disabled enables physically disabled adults to learn how to drive ponies and to enjoy an outdoor activity with animals and other people.

Many disabled people, who would otherwise find it impossible to pursue an outdoor activity, have benefited from the recreational and social therapy that this pastime provides.

THE ROYAL SEAL OF APPROVAL!

HRH The Duke of Edinburgh has a chat with Kate and Sally before presenting their rosettes. Sarah is in attendance as Groom – keeping Casper in check!

On Thursday 8th May,Casper, our Shetland pony driven by Kate with Sally as the AB Whip, competed in the disabled class at the Royal Windsor Horse Show.

This class was divided into two sections – the first being about driver ability, turnout etc and the second part of the class being the tricky cones.

There were 13 entries and we were placed fourth in both sections which was a great achievement!

HRH The Duke of Edinburgh presented the rosettes and Sally and Kate enjoyed a chat with him!

Kate drove extremely well and Casper was angelic! To see more photos of the class see WADG News

CYCLIST NEEDED!
cyclist

We need a cyclist to take turns with our current cyclist Ellie on a Thursday. You will need to be fit (to keep up with the carriages!) and like horses.

Before we set off on our drives we would also ideally like you to 'muck in' and generally help prepare for the drives.

We are a pretty social group and have picnics and take part in different events. Why not come along and see us?!

A hug for lucky Casper!
Jessica's dream comes true ...

Jessica recently came along to meet Casper and the other ponies – it was her wish to drive a white pony. The Starlight Charity contacted us to see if we could help and we were pleased to be able to fulfil her dream. She has been very ill quite recently, having to stay in Great Ormond Street Hospital. However, as you can see, she is now happily fully recovered. For more pictures see WADG News
